Biography:

Thomas J. Plunkert focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, product liability, legal malpractice, insurance coverage, fire insurance, workers compensation and subrogation.

Mr. Plunkert graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in mathematics from Florida Institute of Technology in 1974. In 1977, he graduated cum laude, receiving his Juris Doctor from St. Louis University. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar in the same year and in 1978 was admitted to practice in Illinois.

Mr. Plunkert has belonged to numerous professional associations, which include the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the Missouri Bar, Illinois State Bar Association and the Lawyers Association of St. Louis. He served on the Missouri Bar Board of Governors from 1982 to 1986 and from 1987 to 1994. He also served as the Vice Chair of the Missouri Bar, Young Lawyers Section Council from 1982 to 1985. From 1993 to 1994, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Bar Foundation. He served on the Missouri Bar Client Security Fund Committee and was Chairman from 2000 to 2001. From 2002 through 2004 he served as Chairman for the Missouri Commission on Retirement, Removal and Discipline of Judges.

Receiving the highest ranking achievable from Martindale Hubbell, Mr. Plunkert has an AV Peer Review Rating and is listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. He has also been distinguished as a Staff Member of the St. Louis University Law Journal from 1975 to 1976 and as Administrative Editor from 1976 to 1977.
